Physical Therapy for Comprehensive Management of Bowel Dysfunctions - Multilevel

COURSE DESCRIPTION - A multidisciplinary approach to Bowel Dysfunction or Disorders allows for the management of multiple factors simultaneously including parmacologic management, psychosocial components of patient’s symptom cluster. A linear approach can often lead to unsatisfactory management of this complex patient type because success in one discipline may require the intervention of others to be effective. Availability of multiple services simultaneously allows for a comprehensive intervention strategy tailored to each patient’s needs at any given period of time throughout the rehabilitative process.

Biofeedback Treatments for Pelvic Floor Muscle Dysfunction

COURSE DESCRIPTION - This three day course is intended to provide a comprehensive understanding of biofeedback for the treatment of pelvic floor muscle (PFM) dysfunction.  PFM dysfunction is associated with pelvic floor disorders including: urinary incontinence, constipation, painful intercourse, prostatitis, painful bladder syndrome, lumbopelvic pain and pelvic organ prolapse. Biofeedback is one of the significant and effective tools for the treatment of PFM dysfunction found with these disorders.  Participants will get hands on practice with biofeedback devices and evidence based background knowledge of the modalities.  In addition, participants will have the option of an introductory vaginal palpation lab during the course.  At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to very effectively include biofeedback in their treatment of pelvic floor disorders.
